LINDA KAY MARIE WALLACE
Ms Wallace's book, The Spiral Path, weaves together her delicate bronze sculptures and her poetry within the metaphor of the double spiral, the image of spiritual and creative journeys. Her sculptures and poetry reflect Kay Marie's intense fascination with Jungian archetypes, feminist psychology, and myths of the journey of individuation. The original image of each piece is sculpted in wax, then cast at a foundry. Using a mold, the foundry melts the wax, replacing it with bronze. This ancient "lost wax" technique was used by the Etruscans and Renaissance sculptors such as Benvenuto Cellini. To view samples of her work, click on the sculpture on the right.
Kay Marie has held European shows and poetry readings in Italy and Spain and her work is featured in galleries in Norway, Italy, Spain, as well as in Toronto and Stratford, Ontario. In addition to academic expositions, she appears in shows with such notable Canadian artists as Maxine Noel and Charles Pachter.
New works are in progress as she sculpts and writes a new series of sculptures and poems for a book entitled, Crystal Dreams.
We are proud to offer copies of Ms Wallace's book, The Spiral Path, for sale.
