Our library is the perfect spot to prepare a cup of tea and read a good book from our large selection. There’s also a computer, WiFi service and a guest refrigerator on site. Or relax following a hectic day on our front garden deck and enjoy a glass of wine and quiet conversation as the sun sets.
6 – ECO-FRIENDLY INITIATIVES
Once you visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, you’ll understand why we are on Mother Nature’s side. We do not use pesticides on our lawn or in our gardens. And whenever weather permits, we hang-dry our sheets and towels for that fresh-air scent you can’t get from a bottle. To avoid filling our landfill with plastic water bottles, we encourage guests to bring along their own refillable water bottles and have installed a water purifier on our kitchen taps. You should know, too, that we do not run the central air unless it is warranted and room units are pre-set at the lowest temperature recommended by Ontario Energy.
5 – CERTIFIED ORGANIC AMENITIES
Staying at a bed and breakfast should be a unique and charming experience.
We know you want to be pampered and expect only the best. That’s why all of
our shampoos, shower gels, hand soaps and body lotions are high quality,
fully certified "eaurganic" toiletries from d'Avicenna Inc. Complying with a
strict set of regulations established by independent, accredited
international organizations (Certech and ISO), every one of d'Avicenna's
"eaurganic" products contains a minimum of 95% natural ingredients —- no
chemicals or additives. Also, their plant ingredients are certified to be at
least 95% organic which means that they must be grown, cultivated and stored
without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, fumigants
and other toxins. And, "eaurganic" moisturizers, soaps, and shower gels are
all packed in recyclable containers. For details on d'Avicenna products,
visit www.avicenna.ca.
Oh yes, we also have irons, ironing boards and blow dryers on hand for
guests, so there’s no need to bring your own. We’ll even supply bathrobes if
you need them.
4 – PRIVATE ENSUITE BATHROOMS
At Globetrotters B&B/Gallery, guests never share any washroom facilities or amenities. Each guest quarter features its own three-piece ensuite (in-room) washroom: Le Moulin Rouge offers combined bathtub and shower facilities while the Sultan’s Tent and Crystal Palace feature walk-in shower stalls.
3 – OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY GUEST QUARTERS
“The pictures do not do your rooms justice!” This is a common reaction we receive from guests checking in for the first time. Two large suites occupy the space upstairs on the second floor and both can accommodate up to four guests each. Perfect for a romantic couple or a family with one or two young children ages 6 to 12, Le Moulin Rouge Suite features a queen wrought-iron canopy bed, a daybed and a trundle bed. Down the hall, our two-room Sultan’s Tent Suite, which includes a queen bed and two single beds, is ideal for fun-loving couples, a family of three or four, or for three or four friends or family members wishing to share quarters and costs. Downstairs on the main floor, our Crystal Palace guest room, with its queen bed and unique headboard and matching boudoir chair, is perfect for those who have difficulty negotiating stairs or for couples or singles travelling on their own.
2 – NUTRITIONAL BREAKFASTS EXPERTLY PREPARED
At Globetrotters B&B/Gallery, we take full advantage of the seasonally fresh produce and add a little of the exotic from the world at large. Our breakfasts are all about variety, healthy nutrition, preparation and presentation. And no one in Niagara-on-the-Lake does it better than Fernando. In fact, some guests want to take him home. He’s the main reason why guests return year after year to see and enjoy his creations. Breakfasts are served daily at a reasonable hour—between 9 and 10 a.m.—in our bright breakfast room or, weather permitting, on our covered veranda. A plate of seasonal fresh fruit, a side of natural yogurt, fresh-baked croissants, orange juice and coffee are followed by Fernando’s much anticipated, hot “daily special.” (If you have special dietary concerns, we ask that you discuss these with Fernando prior to your arrival.)
